got a 2 hour window (1+ hour on the water) to fish so i stayed at the north end. picked up 2 pickeral, 3 bass and 3 misses. nothing big but it was fun...i must of retied my line4 times in that hour! all on salamanders.

is it a shallow bite there yet? any beds?

in only fished the pads and bank so yes it was a shallow (<2 feet) bite. never got close enough to see any beds...especially with the wind.
i did see bed in uncas lake so i know they are there.

I've been getting action on frogs lost a good one today Sad The bite is just gonna get better tho which is good. Laughing

YES, They are on beds I would assume across the state, I have been to a couple of places north and south CT and found largies on beds, so if you like easy fishin on beds go!! its only going to last a short time, just do us all a favor and try to release them where you caught them Very Happy Good Luck, smallies are in all spawn modes, I would rather target smallies right now, you could catch them everywhere Very Happy I had a friend fish Bashan and he said he had a blast with smallies. The smaller the body of water the faster the fish are going to be spawning, but fish do spawn at different depths and times, Good Luck, Jim
