Went fishing this morning with my buddy who owns property on a private lake in Goshen. You have to own property to get on. Last wee k he gets a 6 lb rainbow and 4.75 lb smalley. Today he gets his personal best. I think I was more excited then him, actually the biggest LMB I have ever seen alive...it was unbelievable!!!!!!!! If you want to see the pics you'll have to wait till I size them or send me your email or you can look in the gallery

we fished today from 8am to 12:30 or so. I was on early with a 2 lb'r. The fishing was slow until around 11am. Until then we had 4 keeps. We caught all our other fish including the monster on Senkos. Here's the unusual part they were up tight on structure (docks) 2-4 FOW. No beds, No visable cruisers. Pretty fun...beats throwin jerkbaits any day!! Nothing really of any size all fish about the same size 2-2.5 lbs. Goin to A similar lake nearby tomorrow....should be fun!!!!

Private lake, no pressure, no problem. Show me that fish if it's from Coventry Lake, Gardner, Bashan, Highland etc.

PaulEye,

Actually this lake gets fished pretty good. There are no tournaments held there. This does not make catching easy. It doesnt matter where you fish in Ct. an 8lber is a big old fish. On private lakes there is just maybe a little more control, catch and release better numbers of bigger fish. Let me know how many 8 lbers are released in Ct. I would guess more than 50% of the people who fish out there would have killed that fish, maybe that's why there aren't any or not so abundant in those places you mentioned . It's just like hunting on private land.....less pressure more mature animals. Isnt that what we want? I guess it depends on what you are looking for. To me NOT allowing jetskis or pleasure boaters towing inflatables is nice, it makes the fishing better not easier. It's a priveledge to fish on Woodridge. Maybe someday I'll get my PB. I have been hovering at 6.5 lbs. for years
