Well, The wife want to have a date. Now, my wife's idea of a date is just her and I on the boat relaxing (me fishing, she's reading a book).
She wanted to hit a remote place where she hasn't been to before (I was temped to tell her to go to the Kitchen, she hasn't been there in a while. But I wanted the date to end well ), so we went to Lake X (Near Rt 9 should of middletown).
Took the Twin Troller because it is rather remote (no ramp and it's about 100+ yards to the water).
Water was clear to about 6 FOW, lite wind from the west, water temp around 58. Pads just starting to grow.
Used white pond magic, jerk bait, swim bait. Worked the banks and found one small pocket where they were hiding.
Pulled out a 3.5lmb, 2.7lmb, 2.5lmb,2.0lmb, 1.8lmb 3.2lmb. All within 30mins on a swim bait.
Spent just under 3hrs on the water.
PS, next day I went trout fishing with SkeeterJim in his secret location. Caught 3. It drove me nuts, I can see them, baits in front of them but they won't eat. they look at it then IF they want they will inhale it. I hate fishing from shore.
1st and late trout fishing trip. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
