I know it is situational but i would have to say texas due to it being far more versatile of a bait when fished this way. Whether it catches more fish or not,who is to say..but i do know that it is way more fishable that a wacky rig.

Years ago I started throwing senkos wacky rigged with a circle hook in open water and did very well, but got tired of cleaning the weeds off it here and there.
So about 3 or 4 years ago I started Texas rigging them with an 1/16 oz tungsten bullet weight and a 2/0 Gami EWG hook. I use this in open water as well as near laydowns and structure, and it skips under docks and pontoon boats great too. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

i prefer the texas rig because of weeds but sometimes you gotta throw a wacky rigged senko just to see if they want it.... _________________ "Taco flavored Doritos

I love it wacky fishing vertical structure. I like the flick shake rig. Texas rigged when throwing it into the structure/cover. |

I'm with Phish.
If I'm hitting weeds or heavy cover I texas rig it. Generally this is the kind of spot I'm fishing in so I texas rig a lot.
I've caught my share of nice fish whacky rigging it though too. So it really just depends, you gotta figure out how to present it how they want it either way... _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |

If it's weedy I use the Texas rigged because the senkos tear so easily rigged Wacky you can go through several bags quickly unless you are using o-rings. If it's clear water I'll go with both and let the fish tell me how they want it. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

I always start throwing texas rigged 5 inch senkos around heavy cover and it usually works really well. If it is cover that I wont get snagged on I will throw the wacky rig. Also, if I'm at a busy lake and I see everyone else throwing texas rigged senkos, I will throw a wacky rigged senko and alot of times I start catching fish while everyone else is getting skunked. _________________ Catch and release only.

I really like texas style, but wacky also works.....
heres a little somthing to try for you guys that like wacky setups
I had a guy show me one time to push a 1 inch finishing nail into each
end of the worm then set it up wacky style...it adds a ton of presentation
and some extra weight...no promises ......but give it a whirl |
