That place is REAL shallow... maybe 6 feet in the deepest spot.
Im no Pro on that lake, but from launch, go straight out, along the track side, drive past the 2 "coves". On the far side of the second cove, there are some big rocks... start near there... and work your way to the end of the pond.
Ive found that far stretch is where the good lilies are, and you may catch a few on creatures/lizards, or jiggin-piggin. I dont think its warm enough to be launchin frog baits yet...
Not for nothin.... that 2nd cove is super shallow, but for some reason, Ive caught some good sized fish in there, way up in the bushes on spinnerbaits too.
watch out for the swans. they are bitches in there. and this is the egg season. |

Silver is a bit deeper than 6 feet, @ the deepest point its bout 18ft. BUT most of it is very shallow, esp the coves....there is a channel that cuts through it (hence the channel catfish being stocked there)..that is where it's deepest.
Try slow working some soft plastics through the weeds...jerkbaits might still be effective too.
Good luck! _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |

Ive never fished there but i can tell you one thing,if its a windy day try working wind blown shorelines/flats with a rattle trap 1/2oz if you got one. don't be afraid to rip it pretty fast, there getting really aggressive with water temp warming up. It's been working great for me at a number of different places. if its sunny throw something with a lot of flash chrome/gold blue and chrome and if it's cloudy try something a little more solid without any flash darker colored. If theres no wind then i'd just throw some soft plastics. Good luck!!! _________________ this fish here is a real donkey!!! |

Lipless cranks every cast you'll get one but it will be a while before you catch a bass bigger than 11 inches |

I would fish 7.5" culprit worm dark red/black/dark purple, small white single colorado spinner bait, and a gold minnow husky jerk and a rattle trap. Fish them all slow. I hope Silver fishes well for you guys. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Whoever said silver lake is 6 feet at it's deepest point needs a depth finder. It has a channel that run through the center of it that's around 15 feet deep. This time of year a big husky jerk bait right off the left side of the launch looking out in that deep channel usually gets me a bunch over four. |

With the water temps as they are in the high 50's, you might catch a few with a jerkbait, but I'd venture to say that the jerkbait bite is almost over. You'll have fish super shallow all over the place that will probably be the better quality fish hitting all kinds of soft plastics and jigs. My 2 cents...... _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Yeah I think this week will push the temp to the point that you're right. Costa del mars do the trick |
