Ok, this is my first fishing report so lets see how this goes.
Saturday morning started out on Bantam @ 6:30am, headed for the hump near the yacht club. I started with some top water lures and then changed to a jig. No luck. Headed for the markers on the right side again with the top water lures, landed a 1lb LMB.
It started to rain lightly at around 8am and I moved to the Lilly pads by Bantam River. Continued with top water and landed a 4lb LMB my first Lunker. That was AWESOME..
Changed over to a ribbon-tailed worm shortly after the rain stopped and landed a 2lb LMB. My Dad kept using a spoon the try and catch a monster Northern Pike; instead he hooked a 2lb LMB.
We moved on to Folly pt at around 10am with jigs and worms, I hooked into something big but the line snapped before I can see what it was. The wind started picking up and it also started to get dark.
My Dad wanted to try for us monster pike more off Folly Pike, which we did. While fishing in 20’ the baitfish started jumping all around us, good-sized baitfish. Maybe someone can explain why.
I was thinking maybe the Northern Pike were chasing them; we started throwing everything we had to hook whatever was chasing them but nothing.
All in all a good day on Bantam. Thanks to Jim (SkeeterJim) and Mark (Justforfun) for all the footnotes as to where to go.
Later in the day I went to my home fishing hole, Silver Lake. Used a small ribbon tail worm and hook 12 LMB all around 2lbs.
Busy day on the water.. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

Way to go Ron! Now you need to get a digital camera like I did so you can start documenting all the lunkers you're going to catch!! _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

The baitfish jumping were most like perch. I have seen it a number of times on bantam. I don't know if they are getting attacked or just goofing around like little kids. I have thrown everything in the box at those perch and never caught a thing. Must be just fooling around. _________________ HONEY, I'LL BE HOME FROM FISHING IN A COUPLE OF HOURS, I PROMISE! |
