|
Went fishing today around 2:30 till about 4:30 at the Saugatuck Reservoir.
Water was a lilttle choppy and I was fishing a shallow flat in a cove like area of the lake. I started using a chrome Rat L Trap. 10 mins in I caught a beautiful 5 pounder, about 20 mins later I put on a green pumpkin senko and landed a nice 3.5 lber. At around 4:15 just before I left I thought maybe I would just try one more cast using a Zoom magnum finesse worm, black, wacky rigged, so I casted out near an isolated branch sticking out of the water and what do ya' know a fatty, 4.5 lber. Oh but wait you guys, A friendly officer approaches me as I release the last catch of the day. The whole time I had thought I was at Saugatuck and nope, I was at the Easton Reservoir where no fishing or tresspassing is ALLOWED. I felt like an idiot. Good thing the officer was a nice guy and I didnt get anything for being there. But I will tell you what I may by mistake go there again.

I work for Aquarion Water Company. I would not push my luck if I were you.
You were real lucky that you got off light. You could have been given a $250 fine for fishing in a reservoir. But if you do head up to the Saugatuck, most people do well with castmasters and croccodiles, letting them flutter down deep and jigging them back up for trout. Or if you bait fish, try a slip float with a shiner at 20 feet down. |

Wow! I wouldn't push my luck either. Especially if the same cop recognizes you the next time
Nice looking fish though. |

nice fish. Not to be a d*ck but you shouldn't put the bass on the ground like that if you can avoid it, as it can damage their slimecoats which can lead to other issues down the road. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

My fault for putting the fish on the floor, it's just hard to get a decent pic of the catch with the fish in one hand and camera in the other. I do it with good intentions, not bad. _________________ -Get your Pole Wet- |

I hear you. I use to do the same thing until some one on this site was kind enough to inform me it was bad for the bass. So I figured I would pass along what I learned. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

How many times can they catch you in a life time? Is it worth that amount of money for awesome fishing... I think so |
