Hit Bantam for my Big 50 B-Day with my wife on Thurs. Now I usually dont post but what a day! I caught about 20 bass with my best 5 being about 20 lbs. My wife caught a nice tan and about 5 bass, a pike and a rock bass. Mine were caught on stalker worms and jigs. I found my fish moving up in shallow water. Also seen a huge bob cat on shore. Cant wait for Lake Q to open !!! [img][/img]

it was just the surface temp at most a foot and a half deep at your transducer. No sun and a little breeze will mix the water up and cool the surface down really quick. I would guess it will take to the end of April or even mid May for the actual water temps at most large ct lakes to reach the 63 mark, not simply a surface temp but an actual water temp. |

Those temps were in 5 to 8 feet of water. Last year late June Winchester was only at 63 because of the all the rain and clouds. |

The main lake was about 54 degrees, the shallow water I found on the north side was 62 to 63 by the mid afternoon. I actually started fishing shallow with no luck. The water was a few degrees colder. Then I seen (spooked) some bass in very shallow water area and targeted them. I lost two nice ones in the 3-4 lbs range. It felt good to figure out what was going on and wack em... |

Pete, if you are refering to Bantam may not happen anytime soon considering the town did not renew the lease with the state to keep the out of towners off the lake. Good thing there is a smaller launch on the other side or Bantam would be un-accessable. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

The DEP guys told me that the launch will be open this year again they lied. Going to make a trip there in late september to do some scouting. |

Well it doesn't really matter to you if the launch is closed to the general public as you can always launch your tin boat from the smaller ramp down the street. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

Pete, I wouldn't say no ski-boats or jet-skis. I think you're forgetting about the people who live on the lake and have ski-boats and jet-skis docked in their backyards. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!
