Hello, haven't been here in a while and was wondering about Scovil res. I drove by there in January and it was empty. I heard a rumor the drained it to remove a species of fish (not sure which). Is it safe to say there are no fish in there? The 2010 angler guide says nothing of this. BTW, it was nice to see where the deep areas are, the boat launch area is pretty deep.

Ive heard they drained it to fix the dam.

There is an exotic species... the "BowFin". in there. I actually caught one years ago. Took it home, and flipped thru encyclopedias til I found it. (that is how we used to find out about shit). LOL.

Tell ya what... I would love to walk it now, and learn where the oddities are, and go back in a few years when the bass grow up.

Don't let the draw downs fool you. There are big bass there. If you hook into a bowfin and it's a big one, hang on!!!

DANG would have liked to see some structure. and gone back floatin above it.

Ive never spanked any big bass in that place, but its close, and convenient. and I have caught a few.

May have to put it on the agenda this spring.
