i have heard big things about this place, with that being said the damn side of that place is the biggest toilet i have ever fished on!!!!!!!!!!! there was so much shit in the water and on the banks, i could of built a shed with all the lumber, have enuff fire wood for next winter,or started a gym class with all the balls floating around!!!!! wdf!!!!!!there were t.v's rims with tires floating around my partner and i both picked up a couple of keepers both large&small mouth, and there were some spots that were picturesque and there were plenty other boats,so sorry if this is your home lake, but i will not drive over an hour to fish that place agian, i grew up in hartford and never seen the ct river that bad!!!!!!! Crying or Very sad

Thats what happens on Lilly after heavy rains, considering that its the first of three lakes created by the damming of the Housitonic. If you were to go back in two weeks all that crap would have found its way down to the dam, but by the sound of your post, that probably won't happen. The nice thing about that lake is the occasional monster pike and the large hold over trout that has migrated out of the feeder creeks.

ya and if you head out on the ct river ina few weeks you will see more of the same..flooding does that to a river system..it lets us see how disrespectful people are of our natural surroundings.

thats what happens when lakes flood. All the stuff that is in peoples backyards on land gets washed into the main lake when that land becomes water. The ct river is just as bad and it happens ever year.

not trying to get in a pissing contest but like i said i grew up in hartford fishing the river since i was seven and have never seen that much junk in it. does candlewood and zoar do the same thing?wanted to bring mt jet ski down to candi this year, but with water like i saw yesterday i wouldnt let my dog fetch a stick out of it. that much junk in a plce like that isnt just from the rains, its from the lack of respect of property owners along both the lakes and river

its no joking matter,i was posting a fact about a body of water and its condtion, you have people that dont contribute other than smartass remarks. what good does that do? anybody with a 15-20k bassboat might not want to launch in a place with such poor upkeep. people that want to make jokes or tell people "good one" go to a comedy site

WOW chumley, I agree its dsigusting, but there is not much you can do about it if the land owners along a lake or river keep crap down near the waters edge. I'm sure it was worse than usual as we havent gotten 10 inches of rain in 2 days in the last 60 years. So I'm sure things normally high and dry, got sucked out of their normal spots and washed down river with the rains that we got last week.

Chumley there are things you can control in life and things you can't. So don't worry about the things you can't!

I wouldn't even think of putting my boat in the CT river or Lilli or Zoar after the rains we got last week, and I have a 16 foot aluminum that I don't care so much about getting dirty or beat up. It's just not worth it..........
