Does anyone know who spawns first LMB or SMB. I have had reasonably good luck with LMB on lake housatonic in the past. I have yet to see a LMB this year and all the SMB that are hitting don't seem to be very aggressive. Am I correct in assuming that both have already spawned? Even I know Post spawn bassing is tough but this is getting ridiculous. ANY IDEAS cmorjoe |

I would guess the smallies spawn first as they are more accustomed to the cooler waters as their natural habitat than the largies, so they probably don't require as warm a water as their cousins do. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

SMB normally go first, when the water temp is 55-62.....LBM's mid to high 60's....but on some lakes LMB's will spawn earlier. I would say that the majority of spawning for both species is behind us this year. What you are "enjoying" now is a post spawn funk the fish get into as they try to re-energize from the spawn. _________________ Roll Tide Roll!! |
