LOL SeaDog !!
My fishin partners "know me", and pay me no mind, but some of the other fishermen on a lake, may think I just cut off my leg when I get some line twist, based on what what they "hear" from the old-school Bass Tracker over yonder.
Ive learned over the years, its better for me to 'spout as needed', rather than play cool, and boil over inside. |

" have more wasted money on every Houdini shad color... and don't think Ive ever turned a striper on one. "
buying the lure is a good start but if you don't know how to fish it, you won't catch sh*t. They are one of the best lures for striper fishing on the river imo. I have boated many stripers with them. Blue, pearl and bubble gum seem to work the best for me. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

I hear ya. Im not arguing that those Houdin's work, Ive seen em work.
I just suck with em.
those Cabela brand "flat tires"... ooof. everything eats em. and I toss em hard.
I was just messing with ya with the houdini crack. |

I will give those a try. I have a friend that works for folsum tackle and he game me something similiar to the Hshads that worked awesome. I beleive they were made by tsunami.
In regards to the main river vs the back water, I need more experience on the main river. I have caught a few here and there but I don't know that many good spots on the main river. Every thing looks on the main river looks bassy but I usually strike out.
I am hoping to get another boat this year and do some more hunting on the main river. If you ever need a partner, I will pay for gas and lunch
Most of my experience is out of the wethersfield, hartford and rocky hill area. I haven't fished the south river that much except for Salmon cove, Chapmans, hamburg cove and the marinas in essex. Mainly because I was always fishing a tin can with a tiller trolling motor which sucks when you are fighting currents and wind. I am looking for a decent setup this year with a foot controlled trolling motor. Maybe my tax return will help me out. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Ive said it before, and Im gonna say it again... I like fishin, and dont much like doin it solo...
You wanna go??, gimme a PM or a shout.
Im no pro, and my stuff aint all that, but my stuff floats, usually starts when I turn the key, and goes semi-quick...
Unless you wanna go into the salt water, I dont ask for gas money... hittin the big water gets expensive. |
