Brennan, I use sherwin williams auto, ppg, sikkens.auto paint, I use a paiche airbrush, all my paint is clear coated for that ultimate shine, but lately ive been putting a dull clear on them, and those clears add alot of durability,I paint auto so im doing it everyday. |

Cool deal...I am gonna try some acrylic tomorrow on a batch of baits i prepped yesterday. Last round, I used enamel which stuck well but was a pain to clean up and change color. After that, epoxy dip 2x for durable shine....If any are picture worthy, i'll put em up here....Also planning to pour the first run of my own soft swimbait....have to see how that comes out.
How are you dulling the clear?using a matte product or some trick of the trade? How about some pics?
Later,

Ya to be honest with you,Their not that great, and I dont even know how to put a picture on my computer, for the clear they sell a matte clear, the great thing about auto paint is that you just use acetone through it and its clean, I also used to make my own molds for plastics to , I would make a mold out of plaster, clear it and start pouring, the thing is that its alot of time diddling with this shit and if I think a certain color that I cant find or pattern then I will spray it, It got to the point It wasnt worth it. As for the rubber make sure you do your homework, the rubber I used was super soft, just make sure you get the rubber that best suits your needs, they do sell this PVC stuff that works great for making molds, OH try those onion sacks ( the netting) and wrap your lure and spray it, makes good scale profile! |
