I found this fish still on a bed at walkers res...Its was definently doing the spawn dance with another fisher. This one went about 3 to 3 1/2 and the other was only about 12 inches. How anyone else encountered any late spawn fish?

I was reading an article that talked about spawn periods and with the weather we've had I can see that happening.

Did you note the water temp?

Strange days. I haven't seen any occupied beds, besides sunnies. Nice fish! Hey is that a Shimano Symetre reel? How do you like it? I was thinking of getting one for drop shotting and finesse etc.

Yesy it is...and I love it. That rod I for senkos and jig heads(tubes worms) the reel is great. The one in the pic is the model before this years new model. I also have this years model with the rear drag on my drop shot setup and I love it on that too.

yeah I went out friday in killingly and I saw 5 fish on beds and there were many more moving around in the area....Spawning twice in one year could be a good thing...Johny. Smart thinkin.

Could explain the slow fishing that most people have been reporting..fish are F-d up..is it spawn or post spawn or ......who knows.

I wish i had seen this posting earlier but it's funny because i went to old killingly lake this past year, i think it was the beginning of july and i remember seeing a bunch of good sized bass just chilling up in 1-4ft of water, they definitely weren't feeding and i remember being like WTF they can't still be spawning. i didn't know what to make of it,ha it was really strange.
