|
|
Hey guys, I'm new here, moved to Fairfield, CT from South Florida two years ago and used to fish all the time when I lived in FL. I loved bass fishing and have caught a few largemouths in the 10lb range. I've fished a few ponds near my house in Fairfield and caught some small bass but I've mainly been fishing for strippers and blues in the sound since I moved here. Right now I'm at the University of Florida but when I get home this summer I'm going to get a kayak to fish from and I have no idea where to go for bass fishing. Lake Candlewood is about an hour drive away so I'll probably make a few trips up there but if you guys no any other good places closer to Fairfield I'd hit those up too.
p.s I've never caught a smallie before so I'm looking forward to catching one of those this summer |

Whats up lizardfishman?
There's a few spots around Fairfield that you will need to do some internet searching for but I do know of one really nice spot. The Saugatuck Reservoir(which requires an Aquarion water pass $25 for a year) it's by permit only but the reservoir is huge. You can only fish by shore but there is som much shoreline it's awesome. There's everything from largies, smallies, trout and walleye in the reservoir. It's prob the best spot closest to your new home.
There's a small Trout lake as well named Lake Mohegan that's okay. But other than that you may have to drive a good hour or so to get to some better fisheries. I fish out of a kayak as well, maybe I'll see you sometime. Let me know if you have any other questions about the area, I live in Trumbull , next town over.

Welcome to CT lizardman, although I have no idea why anyone would want to move from Florida to CT if you love fishing. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!
If I didn't have to work for a living....I'd be fishing.
