I went yesterday and today at some nearby local ponds and there was still plenty of ice. The edges were a little sketchy but once you get past that you will have about 7 inches of ice. |

You should be fine. i was at mashapaug a few days ago and there was plenty of ice. It takes alot of warm weather to melt this much ice. Besides its getting into the 20s at night which freezes much of wat melts during the days. Id give Silver Lake a shot! |

you should be good just about anywhere, with few exceptions... Huge bodies of water, or those that have decent creeks/rivers feeding them.(at least near those inlets).
We were at Coventry Lake, and it was a wee bit slushy... ok. 2" of freekin water, but we had more than 8" of ice under that.
Silver Lake in Berlin is popular, so expect some company. |

Been to Silver a few times this year (so close, love it). The ice is still pretty thick (about 6" plus), but that was a couple days ago and we've had warm weather. Even then there was about 1" of H20 on top of the ice, which made it very slick and very wet. Take a hike out past the "popular" spots on the lake and you may find fish in less pressured areas...just a hint
Good luck if you go there, and let us know how you did. _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |

Hi!
Took a ride around the NW corner of Ct. where I live.
Temps. in the 30's and teens at night!
PLENTY OF GOOD ICE and NO SOFT EDGES on the smaller waters.
