fished black pond this morning, ice was about 6". caught two pickererel and a crappie. i hear these stories of huge bass in that pond but am yet to see for myself. had better luck in the shallows, but couple of other guys i was with were hittin a few in deeper parts. overall good day. |

Yeah, Ive heard them too.. but that pond gets beat so hard with fishing traffic, I can't imagine any bass in there, let alone big ones. There is another Black Pond in the Eastern corner. That one is hard to fish, its a big "bowl" but has good fish in it. |

DOH. We're busted. Dude, dont give up. "that" Black pond DOES have some really nice fish in it. the hard part, it is like the bowl your momma used to put on your head when she gave you a hair cut. structure is almost non existent. keep drillin holes, and tough it out. there are some good fish in there. |

i went to black pond in woodstock this past fall and had pretty good luck,nothing huge but i got like 10 largies all ranging from 1lb to 2.5 pounds. |

Black pond in woodstock is a really good little hole never ice fished it ,but def trolled around in spring and summer and had luck many times,I would like to ice fish it, I have always heard that there is a couple springs in there and i dont know were , really dont want to crash threw..but thats the sport |

I've caught (and released) huge bass at Black Pond in Meriden. They are in there, but they're definitely pickier as far as bass go...I guess that's how they got so big. The mountain side seems to produce lots of trout & pickerel. _________________ Kira
