Does anyone know if theres an opening day for bass fishing at mashapaug/bigalow hollow lake? I'm hoping to get out there as soon as the ice melts in the spring.
If you know of some lakes in ct that you can bass fish first thing after ice out,
please let me know. Thanks, Matt |

Any lake thats not stocked with trout is usually open year round but you should check the regulations anyway. |

I'm not sure but I think Beach Pond is a trophy trout place so it will be open till March 31 then it closes until opening day because of the trout. Basically and lake, pond, or river that has trout is either closed Feb 28 or Feb 29, or March 31. March is when I put on my waders and hunt the shallows with a jerkbait. I usually don't pull out the boat until April because its always windy |

CT River, and Lower Bolton are both smallie fishable in March and April, as there are no trout stocked in either. Lower Bolton has many more largies than smallies though. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
