Some of you may know that I sell automotive equipment.
Something new to the industry is Nitrogen tire inflation.
It is moving very well....There are some great programs available.
I have converted all my vehicles as well as all my trailers.
The reason for the post is not so much about your vehicle tires but your boat trailer tires. Nitrogen is dry...no vapor like you get from compressed air. You will get no oxidation at all. The air molecules are bigger so it doesnt permiate as fast thru the rubber. It also maintains a constant pressure hot or cold. It will also help your tires from dry rotting. In a nut shell you are removing all the bad things and putting in the good. I just figured I would share the info. every one knows a trailer with the correct air pressure in the tires tows and handles better. Your vehicles tire pressure is as important....gas mileage!! Cant hurt.
My friend owns a repair shop in Watertown (Frank's Quiet Zone 860-945-6000) You can get them converter there for like 10 bucks a tire. do your spare too! If interested in getting other vehicles converter and to see what programs are available call Frank. Of course there are many other stations throughout the state, Frank's parking lot is big enough to accomadate your rig. It only takes about 12 minutes to convert 4 16" tires. Tell Frank, Marty sent ya |

interesting. I bet that would solve all the problems I have with my landscaping tools for the yard (wheelbarrow, leaf blower tires, tractor,). Then always go flat when I don't use them for a while. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Marty,
Back in 1983 I started racing cars and this was the norm. At the time I live on Long Island and owned a repair shop and did this as a Special (Corrected ) when people purchased 4 tires.
Who knew it would take this long to catch up..
Funny...
Anyone reading this, it is true, works great, Race car use it to keep the tires from heating up and expanding. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again.

One of the biggest request come from people with TPMS. Which I think is now standard on all vehicles. Seems to handle all of those problems too. Nitrogen has been around since the 60's. Ron you are right on, racing uses it alot. I think seasonal vehicles and off road stuff is perfect for the nitrogen market. I'll let you know in the spring how the nitrogen did in the camper and boat trailer. |
