Want to buy a legit fishing scale to weigh some fish. I heard that the digital scales can work, and then can't work, so I am leaning towards a spring scale. Anyone have any recommendations? |

Bogas are the best scales I've found. _________________ Ladies and gentleman take my advice.... pull down your pants and slide on the ice. |

I own a Rapala digital scale and it has worked flawlessly for at least 6 years. Spring scales are ok if you want a measurement that is close, but in bass tournaments every ounce counts, so we need a very accurate scale to be able to cull the correct fish, or a balance beam. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

I got a berkley digital scale. It was 40$ and it has lasted me 18 years. I never had to change the batteries. I check it a couple of times a season using various weights to make sure it is accurate. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

i use a Shimano #SM219 but it only maxes out at 100 pounds so i use it for setting my Drag's. _________________ "I was so poor growing up that if I wasn't a BOY I'd have had nothing to play with"

Don, you're a funny guy! I use a Boga for lifting fish out of the water but for exact measurements I use the X-Tools electronic culling scale which is great as it stores each individual fish's weight. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

Nice fish Mud...what is the best you got on rod and reel?
Additionally, I have a berkley digital lip gripper style and it sucks...off by at least 5 ounces in an unpredictable pattern....grips work well though |

Good one Bren !!!! "Off by 5 ounces" Hey the best was 768# shipped. No head fins guts or tail. don't know what she weighed whole. had to have a Dragger load her in my boat.
Ok so i'm fooling about the 5 Ounces I reload ammo so i know 5 ounces can be a world. _________________ "I was so poor growing up that if I wasn't a BOY I'd have had nothing to play with"

Brennan,
With any electronic digital scale I check the accuracy of it at work with certified weights to see how far off they are when I buy one. The first X-Tool I got was off by 3 ounces (not acceptable) so I sent it back to the manufacturer for a replacement and now mine is off by 1/2 ounce which I could live with. Didn't want to pay $100.00 for just a fish lipper.

Going to be paired with a 7ft 6 Heavy Power St. Croix Premeir that Santa Claus is bringing . Going to be my froggin rod. Not gonna lie fishing with stricly St. Croixs I have caught my biggest trout and largemouth bass of my life on these rods this year. |
