Before I get to the Lilli results, I need to get you all up to speed on the last couple of tournaments. I have been extremely busy at work and at home and have not had time to write any lengthy emails or threads about our tournament results.
On August 2nd the club fished Quaddick Resevoir, Pointing Dog and I won with (I forget) 11 or 12 and change for 5 fish, and had a 5-12 largie for lunker. Our fish were caught with jigs, tubes, and senkos all shallow relating to weeds and or docks or both. At this point we were 5 points behind the leader, Mike S.
Then on August 16th the club fished Winchester Lake, Pointing dog and I took 3rd with 8 and change. All fish were caught on senkos near weeds or wood in 4 to 8 feet of water, except for 1 1.5lber that annilated my spro frog and took it deep in a foot of water. After this event we jumped into the points lead.
Yesterday Justin Tralli (fishing in Pointing Dog's place), he and I won with 11-9 for 5 fish. Second place was Mike S. with 9-1 for 5 fish, and Peter had a 3-6 smallie for lunker. Our fish were caught on topwater early and after the sun came out senkos and tubes. All fish were relating to bait and near weeds, rocks, or wood. A couple caught from docks too. We culled at least 10 fish, and I am one hell of a net man. LOL
Water temps were 72 to 77 depending where you were on the water. Conditions were cloudy and overcast with a few sprinkles in the morning, followed by bright sunshine after 11am. Air temps were 60 degrees in the am and 82 by the afternoon. The water was algae stained but not muddy, and pretty clear in shallow water where the water was moving, in the back pockets it was pretty muddy. At this point we are about 100 points in the lead.
Thanks for putting us on fish Justin, it was a fun day, many laughs for sure.
Our next outing is at Gardner on Sept 13th. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

no problem Gary! I had a great time too! It's nice to know I still have it after not fishing for weeks. I'm happy I was able to help you guys take a pretty good lead in the club and it was a good way for me to end my tournament fishing for awhile on a high note. After winning yesterday, I ended up winning the last five tournaments I fished this year! Thats a nice feeling.
Thanks for inviting me and yes, you are one hell of a net guy!!

You're a funny guy Dean!! I figured it would be ok if someone else won for a change.. jk Yeah I need a break man. I'll fish a couple things here and there if I feel up to it but it will be with very limited tackle. I definelty hope next year you can come out on the saltwater with me! I'd love to get a bunch of the guys together from here and go out for a day! That would be a lot of fun! Keep in touch with me. I'll private message you my home phone.
Keep in touch!!
