I got a late start to fish Gardner Lake. Was on the water at 10:30 AM. Fished until 2 PM. Went to fish some areas I didn't have the chance to visit the last time i was there. I fished a flat to the left of the boat launch. I caught 1 keeper there on a Bandit ZZ walker very shallow running crank bait. Got a dink on a Zara spook. Time to move to the next spot. Fished the second Redneck Riveria ( Trailer campground) on the right. Drop shotted between 8-14' and was rewarded with 3 keeper smallies. They seemed to like Aaaron's Magic today. No bites on a senko today. Went to the big island and 2 more smallies on the drop shot. had some real nice air shows before they jumped into the net. Tried throwing a spider jig and got nada. Got a few huge pumpkinseed panfish on the drop shot also. Water temps were between 81-83 degrees. Now for the ugly part. Please keep your eyes open for a ski boat out of the 2nd trailer campground. This boy almost took out another boater today just by trying to thow some kid off a tube he was towing. This is by far the scariest lake in SE CT. It is an accident waiting to happen there. Keep your eyes peeled as they don't care about you. Also the few no wake zones are ignored by some people there also. I think I am done with that place for the year. Too stressful with all the crazies on there. I got a small limit of bass there today. Nothing to write home about. but beats working. |

good report and a good day fishing save the inconsiderate jetski-ers. that lake is pretty rough when all the boaters and jet skiers are out. seems they believe the entire lake is theirs... _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |
