Got out about 7:30 a.m. on what must have been one of the most beautiful mornings of the year so far. Sorry no fancy equipment to know air or water temp.
Hit some of the small Islands and Rock Piles with no takers for the 1st hour. I finally picked up a couple of small Bass on a 6" Chartreuse Rapala floating Minnow. Caught a few more small Bass on a Lunker City Spanky rigged Whacky style(Bluegill color), a couple on a Whacky rigged 4" Senko(purple color).
Best fish came when I changed over to a 1/2 oz. Berkley Football Jig(orange craw color) with a 2 " twin tail grub trailer. Nothing special, probably close to 2 lbs.
All in all caught about 9 Bass and 1 nasty slimedart. Not a bad morning fishing, felt bad for my friend who only landed a 4 inch sunny. |

Nice job on the catching,...
I've never been there but my DEP book says that that place only has car-top access, but in the picture your boat looks like you probably drag it on a trailer,....so is it someplace where I could get a regular bassboat in there? _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

yeah, it is pretty much a car top place. I have a small 11' Basstender that I do carry on a trailer and am able to get in there although it is a bit of a pain. I have seen a guy in there with a Bass Tracker that was carried on a small trailer, but a full size bass boat would be real tough and there are places that are very shallow. |
