Oh no! I just received two spools from Cabelas. Hope it works better for me than it did you. What lb test was yours? I have 12 and 14 lb test. Joe

I agree with you sevnseat. I had 10 lb test on my spinning reels and out of rage I stripped off whatever I had left on there because of the knotting problem. Ever notice that the knots that do occur by accident are unbelievably strong and permanent. I could not ty a knot this good even if I wanted to!! Mad No more Vanish for me.

I recieved free samples of both in the mail.

I have had ok results with the Vanish but will agree that it knots up very easily. Do not like the strenght on it either.

The Iron Silk however was the worst line I have ever used. I had some 12 lb test and put it on a spinning rod for heavy jerk baits.

I was fishing a tournie with BigBeave at Amos early in April. It was like casting lead core line for striped bass. I know where they got the Iron part from but can't figure out were the Silk fits in. I was still very cold out but man was it some of the worst line I have ever used.

I am glad to see someone is having luck with it. I really think it is meant for saltwater applications

Vanish is probably the worst fluorocarbon that you can get. The knotting problem is new to me,..but that line has unbelievably poor knot strength and seemingly breaks for almost no reason sometimes. I have seen a few people claim that they like it,...but I never seem to see the same person say that twice!! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

If you want some decent fluoro, try Seaguar or Pline (Gamma is also very good but even more expensive!!)
