Morning session 4 hours on the river out of chater oak, water was rising and slightly stained at 80 deg with outgoing tide and light winds,clouds-sunny skies. Fished the discharge,nothing...then headed to wethersfield cove,4 bass in the canal and a few blowups in the grassy flat just outside the channel to the right. Next headed to keeney cove but water was still low there, nothin. headed home at 4 for lunch.
Round 2- Mansfield, water was 6 feet lower than sunday fished for 3 hours sun to cluds, light winds and water temps of 80-84 deg. Caught a few small bas (2 keepers0 aound the island on senkos and jigs, then nuttin until late,a few mosnter perch on jigs and a few small bass on topwaters...next fish took the cake,my yoiunger nephew was board so i tied on a sppok jr for him and showed him how to "walk the dog" after over an hour he finally got a nice keepr near the island by the ramp. What a rush seeing him nab his first topwater bass. Three more days, lakes left to fish..pickeral,moodus,bolton. _________________ I love rippin on the river!
