only had a little time so I did a local trip on Lake Housatonic. Saw cmorjoe on the water and he told me conditions were tough and they were. But I did better than previously this year. This lake/river seems to have gotten even tougher this year than in the past. I assume it's because of all the rain. The lake was a good 2' above its normal level. Results were 2 rock bass (both on spider grugs - salt & pepper with red fleck) a short LMB on a spider jig (green pumpkin) and a 13.5" keeper on a shakey head worm (green pumpkin), |

Pappy: my cousin (from SC) and I didn't do much better; he got a lmb about 14" and I got one smaller than the crankbait I was using. All in all Monday and Tuesday STUNK! I hope it stops raining everyday the current was real bad and with the wind coming out of the south it made things almost impossible. Anyway it was good talking to you; hope to see you around this summer cmorjoe |

No one's gonna travel any distance to fish Lake Housatonic, that's for sure.
Not a great home lake but it's only 10 minutes away!
Hey how did the closing of the Bantam launch affect you? If I remember right that was basically your home lake, right?. |

I agree, not to bust balls because I don't know you personally Derbystang, but a few periods and or commas would make your post easier to read. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

"Lake Housatonic, what can I say, I love fishing this river. However, many people do not like this river and many do. You just have to know how to fish this system when the water is running, head North. When their is no current go south, easy as that. A friend and I fish it often, sometimes we say that we are spoiled fishing this river maybe because we know it so well. I am not saying I am an expert because, well, I am not. Take your time with this river. Anyone can have a good fishing day and maybe pull out a Larry."
