It's funny how the bass can be totally not biting for several hours and then something just clicks and you start catching them every couple of casts! Happened to me yestarday,...took the kayak out after work and skunked it up for the better part of 2 hours, before they decided that it was time to start eating that jig that they'd been watching go by!!! Rolling Eyes
Anyway, I ended up the evening with 6 bass total. Everything on the jig and most were caught while swimming it! Best of the day (by far..) was this ol'girl that was right around 6 even on the boga! Very Happy Very Happy
(Then caught one right after, that went 8",..so go figure!)

Mark,

When you're swimming jigs, do you use a rattle or go silent? Or do you do both and let the fish tell you what they want???

I rarely ever use rattles on jigs,...
There's probably some times when it'd help,..but for most of the relatively clear water that I normally fish, I think there's way more times when it turns the bass off rather than helps. At any rate,..when I'm swimming a jig it's on a straight retrieve where it wouldn't rattle even if there was one on it!

Also, you didn't ask,..but I use a paca chunk for the swimming action and I've had way more luck burning it just under the surface rather than any other retrieve! Cool
