Water Temp: 67-71
Time Fished: 3PM-4PM
Water clarity: Lightly Stained to muddy
Depth: 0-3 FT
Equipment: Diawa Light and Tough lightweight rod with a weightless smoke colored senko. 6 Lb Flouro.

Took the kids to Rainbow for some tubing. Man, there must have been 12 pleasure boats and 10 jet skis, so I knew I made the right choice to go "play" rather than try to seriously fish. Anyway, once the kids' arms were tired from the tubing, I headed way up the Farmington and started fishing Hooked 2 smallies (dinks) very quickly on the fall fishing the bubble line and drift in a fishy looking area with laydowns and a decent current break. Moved on down river making a few casts then found a great group of laydowns in an area with very little current and got a 1.5 lb largemouth. Made a cast through a bunch of junk knowing full well if I hooked one I'd probably break him off, but I worked him high and over a branch and landed him. Very happy until I saw he was gut hooked. Did what I could then cut the hook and left the business end in him. He swam away and I hope he lives to fight another day. In all, I had a ball. Gorgeous day, fun with my boys, and 3 fish in an hour. I'll take it.

Glad to see you got out with the kids anyway Phish. I ended up working all day at my brothers house. Removing a wall between his kitchen and living room, moving electrical wires/boxes and baseboard heat units, and making everything safe and operational before his wife got home with the kids.
