fished 8 to 1ish
water was calm and sky was mostly cloudy to begin
while heading out i noticed fish surfacing about some weed beds so i tried a lucky craft sammy and had 3 smacks and one fish on. just a small pickeral.
nothing else on topwater afterwards and throughout the day.
ended up following the shoreline down and skipped and pitched under the tree line in some areas and threw a rattlebait in others. also fished out on the edge of a weed line with the rattlebait for alittle. by the end of the day i made out with 5 pickerals, 1 large mouth and 1 small mouth. nothing carrying size to it
everything caught on senko and rattlebait minus the first on topwater.
found 3 beds with bass on them and fished for extended time.. nothing

Hey "nut",...where ya been??
As for the quonni smallies,..I've only caught a couple and they've both come from that little mini-cove area just north of the beach!
I did talk to the old guy that fishes there ALL the time about them once and he said that he's caught them all over the lake, deep, shallow and even had one that came out of the weeds!! He also said that a few of them were small too,..so they've definitely reproduced in there! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

the one i caught this year so far was small as could be.... the senko i used could have matched him up; but last year i was popping a super fluke across the weeds and had a rocket out of the water and ended with a 2lb smallie as my first smallie every caught; that was when i learned the truth to how small/large mouths fight and it was a fun time |

Hey,Its been a while..Looking forward to fishing with you guys very soon..Great news about the smallies taking in there. I was told the not one of them were under 2lbs and wasn't sure if they were able to do the nasty in there
Glad to here you got your 1st smallie out of there and sounds like it was a nice surprise for you...lol
The lake has plenty of rocky bottom for them and thats one deep lake loaded with alewives. Which all make for a great place for them to be. Now if they do it like rabbits we should have one heck of a smallie lake down here in the south central part of the state. _________________ Take a kid fishing |

I cant tell you where i caught this fish , but i can tell you, i absolutely FLIPPED my lid when i threw my popper for the first time that day and before i could flip my bail back over, the fish flew clear outta the water, a few feet outta the water, and then moments later my drag was singing. I saw what i was gonna catch before i even felt the bite LMAO. I think every person within a mile radius heard me when i saw that. I still have this image of the monster hovering over the water burned in my brain and it just wont go away
