Hit Tyler Lake from 6pm-11:30pm. Started throwing plastics...senkos and tubes and maybe a brushhog with a spinnerbait thrown in. Boated a few 1 lbers. 9 o'clock rolls around and we switch to "night " stuff. Bigger profiles and black spinnerbaits with colorado blades with grub trailers. Started off pretty slow, had a blasting hit that broke my 1 bladed Spinnerbait. Tied on a double Co. blade. you can say they wanted that!! Wow! boated 5 nice 2 lbers and a nice 3.5 lber!! Can't wait for the water to warm up for better action.
I guess its the excitement of not being able to see. I turned a big boy over and missed him. Also had one blast the bait as soon as it hit the water. Missed that one too! We boated around 20 fish total, our biggest was close to 4 lbs.
Had alot of fun, pretty tired during the day. Well worth it |

Sounds like a fun trip in the dark. Have you ever tried a big black clacker buzz bait, or a big black hula popper, a big black chug bug, basically anything that makes a hell of a racket or puts out a lot of vibration will do. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Nice job Marty. If I wasnt terrified of bats I'd do more night fishing! I'd rather walk down Albany Ave in Hartford in the middle of the night than deal with bats... You can catch all my fish!!! Nice job!

I havent tried the top water night tactics yet. I'm really don't throw too much top water. I'll have to give it a try. I was going to buy one of those black hula poppers for the hell of it. I'll keep you posted.
Funny thing about bats....I havent seen one in awhile. I thought I heard something like they have this disease and they all died. Hope not, they eat alot of the mosquitos.
Maybe going tomorrow night.....depends on if I have to work Saturday or not |

I know how you feel, Justin. I can't count how many times bats have played with the line, making false strikes Haven't had any problems other than that.
I like the old time BIG BLACK CRAZY CRAWLER ! It yeilded a 5.75 lber last year ! _________________ ..I play nice with everyone.. |

I'm with the bat-haters. The last time I went night fishing, they were attacking my popper on every cast!!!
Good report. Colorado blade S-er B the next time I go night fishing!!! |
