Hit Millers pond this morning water was like glass, crystal clear and warm enough to swim in as people were doing. First cast nailed a 3lb 3oz 19" big mouth on a red with glitter senko no weight. Also hit Scoville's in Wolcott got a 2lber by the damn on the same worm. Beats the skunk

just off 17(Main St) in Durham. it's really in the sticks. The place is gorgeous. Looks like those nice smallmouth lakes you see on tv. Tried pulling a 5lber off a bed protecting a ton of frye, but wouldn't touch anything. I can't wait to go back there. Ill have pics soon

Thanks heavyweight, I take it you can't get a canoe or a cartopper in there right?

I wouldnt wast your time. Its wading through 8-10inch bass for one good one a trip. Plus you mite have a heart attack carrying the boat the 300 yards in... I know I did.

Ive been there three times and never caught a smallmouth- keep in mind that the survey was done in the 70's.

Easy to have a 50 fish day there but I wouldnt expect more then 3 or 4 keepers with maybe a 4lber thrown in.

I'm going to try it again it can't hurt. Plus that seems to be the case just about anywhere. The only place I've caught bass consistently over 3lbs was at a golf course. Just about anywhere you go in the state you're going to catch a ton of cookie cutters before you hit one or two good ones

Ive never caught a smallie there eithier but I have to disagree with the size of fish in there they run very big in there, ive caught many big fish in 1 day,it is a long walk to the water so bring a kayak or something small,it is pretty clear water and rocky bottom with few weeds very few shallow spots from shore as there is a drop off right by your feet, popular picnic spot with cliff jumping
