Wanted to go pre-fish for the Reynolds tourney on the CT River but changed my mind after looking at the BS weather report this morning. Anyway, went to Highland instead.
Time: 6AM - 12PM
Water Temp: 63-68
Clarity: Very clear in some spots, muddy and stained in others, but I mostly fished in areas that had anywhere from 2-4 feet of visibility.
Location: Most of my fishing was done in the shallow cove behind the island club.
Started off working suspending jerkbaits simply to work on technique. No takers.
Wanted to work on frog presentation and technique and found some reeds and pads. On taker (Snag Proof/white), but in his exuberance while attacking the frog, he forgot one important detail...eating it.
Switched to soft plastics (Senko/Sweet Beaver) in natural colors like watermelon green pumpkin and sprayed grass.
Caught 5 fish. All keepers, though I didn't measure two of them because I'm sure they were probably close to being shorts
First catch came on the Sweet Beaver in 3 feet of water on an isolated brushpile about 3 feet off shore under an overhanging bush on the bank. She was the highlight of the day. My scale said 3 pounds 13 ounces.
(see Sal's post below - I removed photos to save people's eyes from bleeding)
All other fish came in 0-3 FOW near moving water sources (one was just a trickle), that seemed to be the pattern for me. Here's the 1/9:

Haha, I can just sense the sarcasm... I love it.
Nice job out there, hopefully we catch some like that son Saturday. It's nice to see these 3lbers popping up all over the place. It seems like a nice trend is forming. Too bad you couldn't get out on the river today, damn NE weather.
BTW, did you get your electronics working? _________________ Yankees Suck!

Yeah...I flipped a switch that I shouldn't have. All is well with the electronics. It was good to get out there.
On the photo size. I can only assume they must be showing up huge because they are exactly the same size on my computer as every photo Mark (Just4Fun) posts. Maybe my mac re-sizes them for display automatically. I guess I'll log in through a PC and see what Sal and pdcrack are talking about. I certainly don't want Sal's eyes to bleed anymore.
Incidentally, Sal...the photos you reposted show up the same size as mine did. At some point I'll figure it out...

Nice job Jed,..as for the pictures, if you resize them to about 600x450 pixels they show up at the right size for posting.
There are various programs to do it,..some versions of windows contain a "picture manager" or editor program (different than the "image viewer") while others do not! There is a freeware program that you can download called "Irfanview" (just google it to get it...)which is quite good and easy to use,...and I'm sure a lot of others as well.
(I'm guessing that your mac cleverly resizes oversize images to fit your screen so that on your computer they appear okay, when actually they are really quite large.) _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
