I figured it was time to get out the frogs and start getting into some top water action (probably my favorite type of bass fishing). The weeds at my local pond were just right. Headed out this afternoon at about 6:00 PM. I was getting some good explosions right from the start but couldn't hook any. I was getting some smaller hits right along this weed line so I continued going back to the spot making the same cast. Eventually I hooked the fish. It wasn't a big hit so I knew I didn't have a great hookset on her. She jumped once and stayed on so I figured I might be OK. Then she jumps a second time and that's when I realized she was a beast. Didn't realized she spit the frog until after she landed. I was sick. Didn't even want to fish anymore I was so sick. I'm curious to hear what everything think she weighs. I've slowed the video down so you can clearly see the jump. My guess is definitely over 5 but hard to tell just how big. I think it's possible she could be 6 or 7 based on how big her girth is.

I feel your pain Rando. Here'a a little video piece of the fish that will haunt me until I catch one bigger. The one I land at the end was 6 pounds 2 ounces.

Wait, Wait, Wait - BAM!! Need to let the fish swallow and take both hooks deep.)
Fishmedik, I agree with you, HOWEVER.... My partner who will remain nameless.
Says I need to set the hook ASAP.
I know you ain't talking about ME because I never told you that!! When it comes to fishing frogs I totally agree with what Justin said you should wait until you feel the weight of the fish before setting the hook. No wonder you're not catching fish.........pay attention!! _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!
If I didn't have to work for a living....I'd be fishing.

Wait until you feel the weight of the fish. hen set the hook. ASAP isnt correct.
Went after her again yesterday afternoon. Didn't hook into her, but I took the advice of letting the frog stay down longer before setting the hook. The tip worked. It's tough waiting that long but well worth it when you set the hook and stick the fish. I've got the feel for it now and know what you're talking about. Check out the catch and thanks for the tips!
