Just wondering if anyone knows of any spots from shore you can fish. I've noticed the whole lake is pretty heavily engulfed with homes, but any help would help. Thanks _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

You can only fish the area by the launch, owned by the state. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

For sure, I have been fishing a yearly tournament there for 15 years at least. We have had 16+ pound bags for 5 fish come from there. Lately it seems the word is out, and the weights are about 10 to 12 lbs for 5 fish. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

It's in Middlefield off of 66. Hang a left or right depending on which way you're coming from at the light where Guidas rest is _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

Interesting... I was up on 66 coming from Meriden the other day heading towards middletown. I noticed what looked to be some sort of river I guess, going under the road. Any clue what that was? _________________ Yankees Suck!

Nada. But if you're coming from Meriden you would take a right at guidas and go straight about 2 miles down and you'll run into Besek _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

It's probably Higby Reservoir. It's about half way between Meriden and Middletown. |

Is it worth fishing near the boat launch at Besek or would I be wasting my time there? I've never been there but was thinking of stopping in tomorrow afternoon for a bit. |

I wouldn't bother to fish it from shore, way to many over hanging trees in the way.
I don't fish anywhere but from a bass boat these days, just not worth it when you can pick up a used canoe for less then $200, or a used jon or row boat for $500 or less. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Is this Higby Reservoir any good to fish? If so, any land spots, what do you catch mainly? _________________ Yankees Suck!

I've never fished it. I used to work in Meriden and made the trip from there to Middletown several times. That's the only way I figured what water you might be talking about. |
