Hmmm... is it legal to be back there?

Ummmm in a way, NO! If you are walking the tracks you are considered trespassing on Amtrak/Metro-North property. Just make sure the rail crew is not working there when you go walking because they will come after you because those tracks are an active line. Just a heads up.

Jim

Good thing my buddy and my girlfriends father both work for Amtrak!

Heavyweight, Yes I know the spot across from the car dealer parking lot. I have been there with my Tracker Bantam and done OK, caught a nice 4 lber out of there. The only thing is like most of the ponds there you need a boat to access all the bassy looking spots.

Are we talking about the same place? The pond is a kind of small. It's right inside of Sage Park in Berlin off the tnpk next to baseball fields? We could be talking about the same place just I've never seen a boat in there. It's all of maybe 2acres

I believe it. You ever fish just off the highway there at the end of the expressway from Corbin Ave in New Britain that brings you out to rt9? I've seen people pull off under the bridge. It looks good, but don't know of anyone who has.

The one I'm talking about in my last post is the one you mentioned above. Right at the end of Rt9 connector right next to New Britain Stadium entrance if you look to the right going onto RT9 you will see a little pond right next to the overpass before you get to Christian Lane exit.

Gotchya. Forgot I asked that. Sorry. Yeah that whole place looks good, but like you said,a boat would def help.I always thought about stopping to hit it,just don't feel like dealing with cops just in case

Being from Berlin I've fished those ponds off Rt. 9 for the past few years. Always have used a canue to hit the entire ponds, there are several interconnected and have had luck in each ranging from 4lb largies to perch to calicos. A lot of cookie cutter 1- 2 lb LRGs.

A great place to fish, but they recently posted no tresspassing signs off the place we launch from (not off the highway, but off a side road). So be on the lookout.

Keep 'em hooked.

I've seen the signs right in front of that small pond next to that factory. I like the small ponds near the train station alot better. I only wish I could pull one of those pigs out i always see swimming around.
