Hit the small ponds off rt9 behind the big ones you see from the highway. A lot of cookie cutters on pearl white and purple flake senkos. Water was a little stained, but warm. Saw a lot of hogs cruising all easy 5lbs but no takers

I was there last thursday. Fished from the kayak in early evening and caught a few small ones in the back corner.

We parked at the train station in Berlin and walked down the tracks about 150 yards. They're on the left hand side. You can't see them from the highway. They're smaller and easy to walk around.

YEah I guess so. People do fish back there. I would try to stick going back there to the weekends just in case. Plus once you're back there no one can see you. We did hit the big ponds and it was tough. I did get a little guy. I like the smaller ones better plus the water is much clearer

Ummmm in a way, NO! If you are walking the tracks you are considered trespassing on Amtrak/Metro-North property. Just make sure the rail crew is not working there when you go walking because they will come after you because those tracks are an active line. Just a heads up.

Yeah good point. I've only gone on the weekends so I've been lucky. Also the small pond at the end of Brickyard Lane had some big ones in it,just grassy as hell.

Very true. I've hooked some good ones in there. Because of the dense grass it makes fishing there tough but drop a 1 oz. jig in there or something with a lotta weight and you got a good chance of hooking a pig. Also walk by the small pond and that trail will take you to the big pond everyone sees from the highway.

We hit the big ones first and pulled out a little one. Tried the small one on the way out and saw some nice ones, but no jigs or anything with me. Tried the senko, but nothing, but I will be going back. You ever try Sage Park pond. My dads buddy pulled out a trophy cat from there. It looks bassy, but I've never had any luck

Heavyweight, how are you fishing it there, from shore or a canoe?

I hit the big pond from shore. I'm sure I would do better with a boat.

Definitely!! There are spots there that are only accessible by boat.

I believe it. You ever fish just off the highway there at the end of the expressway from Corbin Ave in New Britain that brings you out to rt9? I've seen people pull off under the bridge. It looks good, but don't know of anyone who has.
