Got up in time for the dawn patrol out on the river this morning for a little striper action! Thought that the rain was ending but it stayed constant with even a few heavy periods during the three hours that i stayed. Fished just to the south of Essex Marina where there's a nice hump and dropoff. The action was slower than I'd hoped but I still managed to pick up 4 nice stripers all between 25-30"! No pics because of the rain,..but it was pretty fun and my arms were sore by the time I quit from both the big jerkbaits and the fish-fighting! It's pretty cool to set the hook and then feel a fish strip line from my 8ft flipping stick with 20lb fluoro and a tightly set drag!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Thats sick! Just south of Essex Marina? I've heard thats a sweet spot. I was thinking of doing some catfishing from Essex docks tonight, maybe I'll bring my spinning rod too and throw a swimbait around... Nice job!! |

Yea. If you catch one eel, your gonna catch 40 more it seems like. And if your catching eels, chances are your not gonna get anything with whiskers. |
