Everything looked like it was going to be a great day. WRONG
We had all ten boats show up. 8 fish were brought to the scales.
Pete and Ryan 2 fish 5-9 big fish 3-6
pointingdog and slimecoat 2 fish 4-1
Mike and Rich 1 fish 2-8
emptylakebassman(ME) and flatlander 2 fish 2-2
Ron (fished by himself) 1 fish 1-10
That was it. |

What Emptylakebassman forgot to mention was that there was a 40 boat tournament there the day before, with 2 camera boats. The lake got pounded the day before our event. I think the weights would have been a lot different if we didn't have to fish a lake that was molested the day befoe. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Water was VERY stained, as Pachaug usually is. Water temps started out at 52-53 and rose to about 57 in some places by end of day. VERY windy, and clear skies. Did not notice any beds, or any cruising fish. Our fish came from suspending depths of 9+feet. We hit the banks hard, wood especially, but nada. Nothing to be had in the very limited weeds that we could find...
In our opinion also, yes, very tough bite! But is was still great to be out there with my pal! |

Sounds rough, there should be a rule that tournaments can't be within 5 days of eachother on the same body of water. _________________ Yankees Suck!

The pointing dog bass stalker black and blue jig caught both of our bass. I had the seafood platter wrapped up, a white perch, a yellow perch, both on a blade bait, and 2 calico bass on a drop shot producto spring worm. A couple of fresh water clams on a crankbait, and one giant pike near miss that swiped at my jig as I was reeling it in 15 feet from the boat. An ugly day to say the least, but it was nice to be out fishing with my boy pointing dog after a long painful week of recovery after sinus surgery. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
