Fished the CT River south of Haddam. Managed a 6 lb pike on a topwater spook - (2) 2 lb largies on a topwater plug and a pickeral on a white spinner bait. Fished from the Haddam launch to the mouth and back. Water temp hovering around 69 deg in the shallow areas and 60 in the deeper water. Water was like YOOHOO CHOCOLATE MILK! Hit the topwater fish a HIGH NOON. Was HOT AS HELL out there. Had a great time and managed to not get skunked.
As soon as this water clears up, they should start EXPLODING!!!! _________________ HONEY, I'LL BE HOME FROM FISHING IN A COUPLE OF HOURS, I PROMISE! |

sounds like a good day... congrats...
I'm surprised that pike hit that topwater bait... im jealous...
I have been tryin for Pike in the Housy and I can't get them to hit anything... I can see them sitting in the shallows, but they wont even look at the baits... I dont know the water temp though... im sure its colder in the housy....
but with this heat it should show for a good weekend of fishing! _________________ ~ Marc
