Give him a break! Nick doesn't catch his bass from the same place over and over,...he catches them from different spots on a lot of different lakes. He is a good fisherman and he catches them because of what he is doing,..so pay attention to that! Where he is doing it, really doesn't matter!

ps: It's a small lake that cannot stand a lot of extra people coming to fish it. . If you are local and already fish that lake,..then you know where it is from that picture,..it's not like he's trying to hide it!! He's just showing some courtesy to the others that already fish there,...that's how I see it! Cool

Mark...

I agree...and I disagree...

I agree that it is obvious that Nick can and will catch fish, and I do pay attention to that. I also see the point about keeping the smaller bodies "hidden."

My disagree... If a fisherman catches good fish on a small pond/lake, the leave it at that, what is the harm in just saying, "caught this biggin on a small pond/lake." If he/she catches a nice fish/bag on a known larger pressured body of water, then to me, that's news, and kudos to him/her!

I am not singling out one person here, and it is not about Nick, all I am trying to say is, are we not here to learn and better our skills? Is it not nice to know that a certain lake that you may have thought sucked, was now producing good fish?

Heck, half of the people here could not even gain access to some of the ponds/lakes Nick may fish, let alone make the time...

To all...I am just trying to have a conversation here, not trying to make enemies....

Even tho nick does not say what pond he is at, and trust me nick I would not say either. Nick does say a lot in his reports. The conditions and what he was throwing. You just need to go and repeat and make adjustments at your own local pond

I know where was in the picture, Pointing dog. I will tell you privately.

I think this has gotten a lttle out of hand. I see both sides of the argument, and am not going to take sides on this one.

Unfortunately Pointing dog, if the original poster does not want to reveal the location of the lake no matter how insignificant, nothing you can say or do will change their mind. I also agree with pointing dog, that we are all supposed to be here to learn from each other, and help each other become better fisherman. Giving up as much information about a particular outing is the way tyo do it.

As many of you know I fish bass tournaments, and as you know I will give you spots, baits, colors, etc, but only after a tournament is over, not while on the water. I have given many anglers on this site and others plenty of really good information to help them catch more fish on their next outing. I don't think much of my information has hurt me in future tournaments, because the fish move, bait moves, weather and water conditions change, the fish are rarely in the same spots each time you go to a lake. Therfore giving up as much information is not going to hurt anyone, unless you find a very rare spot, that always holds fish, on a lake that holds a lot of tournaments.

I don't believe Nick's Lake X, or should I say Lake S, is one of these lakes. Again I'm not taking sides, just adding my 2 cents......

Way to catch them pigs Nick!

Well said Gary. I totally agree with him 100%. First of all I don't know if I was the cause of this little fiasco with my comment about Nick not posting lake names but all I wanted to say was that if Nick or any other poster wanted to name the lake/pond the report was about I think he would have done so. Right or wrong, I like Gary won't take sides because there are always 2 sides to this argument and if you think about it, both sides have valid points. I met Nick at a past tournament when he was still fishing out of his tricked-out canoe and I think everyone seems to agree that he is a good dedicated fisherman as indicated by all of his past postings with pics. So Nick I apologize for my comment as it was not meant to piss on you but to state the fact that you most times are very protective of the honey holes that you fish very hard to locate so please don't let this little thread sour your taste in posting in the future. In my opinion, I think you and my buddy Mark (just4fun) are some of the best report posters here on this site! I hope we're cool Nick.

Jim

If they're honey holes keep the honey to urself and dont brag. PointerDog has a good point, i dont get why everyone gets attacked on this site when they're trying to make a point or just asking a question. Its a report, so report. Period. If you hit the small lakes around Meriden behind the fields and others around the area, then GL trying to keep it a secret. 'wink wink'
If Someone asks a question try to answer in the most polite way and dont breathe down their necks. If he refuses to answer, just leave it at that, dont add gas to the fire, i know how that feels.
The End.

The lake is never important but a lot of people NEVER reveal where they catch the big bass.....

Ha ha ha ha.. I love it.

Nice looking bass though..

But seriously...

No one should be forced into giving away their locations.. But with that being said, the reason no one should be forced to give away their locations is because location IS important.. Lets not lie to eachother and say it's not..
