Thought maybe i'd try a change of scenery after fishing the clear and deep water of West Hill yestarday,..so I headed out to Gorton's pond and fished from 8 to noonish. Couldn't believe it but he water temp was 62-65 there and I was starting to see some beds already!! Only saw one fish on a bed though!
Well I tried various worms and configurations as well as a jig and some soft jerkbaits. Only got one bass to show for my troubles,..although i had plenty of action from the pickeral who were just a lot more aggressive towards my baits!
Gotta love this weather though,...almost time to hit the river for line-siders!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Oh wow, that lake warmed up quick!
My favorite time to fish is early spring with the water temps are between 55-65.. that place is jumping past there already. _________________ Got one!!! |

Yeah,..in years past I've seen it warm very fast on deeper lakes too where it was just a surface temp kinda thing and that after a day or two of cooler weather all of a sudden it'd be back down 5 degrees,..but on Gorton's the whole place is shallow enough that I tend to think that it's the "real" lake temp! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
