Went up to Highland for opening day and was in disbelief at how many idiotic trout-jerkers there were. Even had one troll between my boat and shore, which was only a distance of about 30 feet...needless to say I was slightly happy when the moron hit his boat and prop on a rock that Helen Keller could have seen from a mile away.

The weather was pretty nice, other than the wind blowing when you didn't want it to and not blowing when you needed it to. Fishing was a little frustrating as the things I thought would work did not...jerk bait, tube, etc. Water temps were slowly climbing a couple degrees and started off at 46 in the AM.

My best catch of the day was a busket on a senko...it was a pretty purple one and must have weighed close to 8 or 9 pounds with all the rocks and dirt in it.

Amos Lake same deal so many people with no respect for anyone. They were asking where our lines were. The only thing you could catch was each other. Then try to leave was like a rat race no respect for who was where at the ramp. Thank the fish gods all these people dont go out every weekend

This is exactly why I don't go anywhere near a trout lake or stream, on or near opening day of trout season. Too many stu nods to deal with. It's just not worth the aggrivation!

I was going up 66 on opening day heading to Durham and went by Black Pond...it looked like a freakin BASS Master Tournament. Easily 20 boats out on the water. People act like trout fishing is something new.

Shooting someone, paintballs,

Maybe we are "practicing" for hunting season....

I too stay away for a week or two.

There are too many yahoos out there. I'll never forget the party boat we went deep sea fishing on that a yacht guy brought his GPS and marked the captains honey holes. First mate just about threw the thing overboard. Seems everyone wants to go catching, not fishing. Somebody needs to tell them they need to go to walmart and fish out of the tanks

No typo there...didn't think it would stump these great minds, but I knew there was someone out there that would get it.. But if you've ever heard one of the meat-eaters (that would be them boys fishin from shore with 10 pounds of weight trying to snag dinner) chattin it up, they always say 'I got me some fish in my busket'. Or better yet, watch the movie Suicide Kings...you'll get it.
