I too use 8-10lb Stren. As for the braided line needs, I use 30lb. Power Pro. Good stuff. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

I buy berkley XL in bulk spools (3,000yds). 4,6,8,10 and 14. I have one bait caster spooled with suffix braid and a few spinning spare spools also.
I do use setups with 10lb alot more than anything else and am out of that stock _________________ Thar aint NO fish in here !!!!!!!! |

After taking longer to load my reel with the vanish line (yes its tough when it comes to knots) might just be cause i'm getting older. I had heard others guys bashing the line and I almost sent both spools back to Bass Pro Shops; I didn't want the hassle of going to the post office like they told me to. They said they would credit my credit card! I said what the heck I'll try it. Guess what it's not that bad at all; I only had one backlash and that can happen to any line. I must admit its neat seeing the line go into the water red and then bam you can't see it. I'll use it for awhile. Joe |

Its all Sunline for me. I have tried them all, and although I sometimes use the Vicious Ultimate cause I have alot, and it works good. I have yet to find a line that is as supple as the Sunline Sniper and being made of pure 100% Fluorocarbon, its 98% less visible in the water. Due to the properties of Sunline, if the line ever does get some memory it only needs to be stretched and it hangs perfectly straight. When I show that to people they are hooked. Granted the price isnt cheap at all, and it gets expensive respooling weekly as I do, but for tourney fishing I will go with what gives me confidence.

Spinning gear:
6, 8 & 10# Seaguar fluoro,..and usually a second spool with 20# Powerpro or Stren superbraid. I like the braid when fishing mainly in lily pads and other thick weeds because I can always rip my bait free with it when it gets hung up!
Baitcasters:
10# Seaguar for things with treble hooks
15# Yozuri hybrid
20# Seaguar
50# Powerpro or Stren Superbraid (I consider these two braids to be interchangeable..) usually with a leader made from 20# fluoro.
The longer that summer goes on and the thicker that the weeds get,..the more reels get the braid. _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
