Looking for a light tackle rod to fish the CT river and other inshore areas for stripers. Something to handle a decent sized fish if hooked into but nimble enough to be versatile. I'd like to throw appropriate sized spoons, sluggos/fin-s/ plugs
Two rods that have caught my eye are from St Croix: the PSRS70ML and PSRS70L just not sure which. I've owned the L before but never used it for what it's intended for. Would like to feel and compare both out if anyone knows where I could find them both in stock.

But what do you guys think would be a good fit?
The reel I'm looking to use is a Shimano Spheros 3000-4000, probably 4 |

I use a 7ft Shimano teramar Medium action with a Shimano stradic 4000 for early season bucktail ,spoon fishing.
If I am throwing something smaller I have a 6ft All Star with a Stradic 3000 _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |
