Hit Candy for the last day until the opener with my friend Kevin....Saw some reports of huge bags of smallies from the weekend so I figured it was worth the trip....
Beautiful day, cold water and rough fishing for the most part....Water was 43-45 throughout the day...fish rock, weeds, and more rock...Tried jigs, cranks, traps and jerk baits...Kev got the only fish on the pictured husky jerk....Chunky little 3 lb or so....LM to boot...We couldn't buy a SM....
later.

how was the grass? slimey or crisp? even though you only got one, I am still jealous...will be weeks before I get down there. With water temp in the mid 40's, sometimes the key is very very long pauses with the JB...30 seconds or more. Though I have heard the JB bite hasn't picked up yet... _________________ Roll Tide Roll!! |

Not enough consistant days of sun.
I had one good day two weeks ago after 2 days of mild/sunny weather. |
