I know this probably gets asked when a new guy joins the board, yet could anyone point me towards the top bass lakes/ponds near West Rock(New Haven)???

Depends on your definition of "near".
CT bass fishing: Although we don't have the huge fish of CA,...we do have some surprisingly good bass fishing scattered throughout the state, with most of the lakes and ponds capable of providing "lunkers" in the 4-8lb class.
This forum also sponsors a handful of small, low-key tourneys every year (check out the tourney section) and they would be a great way to meet some folks and see some different waters around the state.
Aside from that,..you should definitely buy the DEP's Guide to Lakes & Ponds,...which has a description, topo map and rating of the fishing for just about all the public waters in the state. It is available on the DEP website for $20 and is well worth the price! Here's a link:

look up lake wintergreen in new haven. it is in the area of southern ct state university. |

Thanks. I got West Rock right outside my window. I was wondering about the lake up there... |
