I believe they are usually in February, but I never go, I don't do crowds anymore if I can help it. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

I haven't been to one yet that was worth the admission fee. They are great if you are looking for a guide but other than that not worth the drive. _________________ The TACKLE HUT - American Made products

I would consider going more just for something to do that's fishing-related in the middle of winter,... than because I was looking for a deal. Some people feel better about things if they can get together with other like-minded folks and whine about the weather for awhile!!
It's kinda the same reason why I like to go walk around Cabelas when I have nothing better to do! I'm certainly not going THERE for any deals!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

I went to the show in Worcester and was able to get a few deals on some lures. One company (Strike King) then threw in a couple bags of worms on top of my purchases). The show was EXTREMELY crowded. I had 4 kids in tow including my 7 month old twins, so the double stroller was an issue. Quality fun for the kids with the hands on stuff like archery, the fish pond, the dog show, etc; and I got to do some information gathering and talk to some friends that were exhibiting. In all, it was worth the trip for us.
The January show in Hartford, however, was not all that great. Unless I missed something, I didn't see much for kids. The Worcester show is coming here this weekend. Dodge Truck Northeast Fishing & Hunting Expo Feb. 13-15, 2009 At the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford |
