Went out on Lower Bolton last sunday and had 4 inches of ice. Fish weren't around but we were only out from 2-4. Any good ice at Moodus? Had good luck there in the past. |

sorry to hear you had a bad day on sunday Surf King. where abouts were you fishing?
Senko Bandit and i were out there on saturday afternoon from about 12 - 4. the only reason we left was because of the snow. we caught about 12-15 perch and i had a leader break on something with some weight behind it. we were fishing in about 10-12 feet of water with shiners. we pretty much had action the whole time we were there.
we had come from crystal lake in ellington. we were there at sunrise along with about 60 other people. it was absolutely insane out there. we managed only 1 small trout the entire time we were there. unfortunately since the salmon were put in the fishing pressure on that lake is destroying it. |

We were slightly left of the boat launch and even though we were 100 yards out the water was still shallow, like 6-8 ft, less in some spots. We had our kids with us so it was kind of hard to stick and move much. |

Surf king, next time head straight out, and stay towards the right side out 20 or 30 yards from the point just before the upper dam. There is a nice drop from about 5 feet into 9 feet of water, with some weeds close by, ie: old creek channel before the filling of the lake. This is usually a good spot around ice out, I'm sure it will be ok from time to time with ice on. Good Luck _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
