fished yesterday at quinnopaug from around 10am-2pm

water was fairly calm but wind came and went as well as the sun.

started heading down to the back with the weeds first while trolling a buzzbait and crankbait on the way there. fished a frog in the weeds for abit and had nothing hitting so moved into another cove with weeds and had one hit on the frog but after that nothing. sun started to come out so i started my way back againest the wind, fishing the docks. was able to pick up two largermouth dinks and one fair size pickeral. nothing else for awhile so i moved across the lake and fished the shoreline for abit and picked up one more small bass before heading in.

not a day full of fish but not a wasted trip either.

It's been my experience that during daylight,...most of the good fish in that lake are either in deeper water or along the drop-offs,... or if they are shallow, they will be in weeds that are very close to a drop-off to deeper water. Just my $.02

Well put Mark. I was there last week and it was a struggle to get one keeper lmb even in very productive areas. I was also at Rogers that day and neither Dave VA or I caught a keeper. SLOW day and I'm not sure why?

im hearing and seeing for the most part everywhere is slow- it could be the pressure on the fish, the weather or time of year which is what my friend is feeling.

i go to a private lake normally that has great size bass and pickeral in it and for 2 weeks or so now i've gone from a 35 fish day to a 3 fish day if i'm lucky

Its not slow or overpressured...... Head out at dusk and you will be singing a different tune. You have to find the fish deep which is very hard or you have to wait for them to pull shallow.
