I fished with my 8 year old at Upper Moodus yesterday morning so my fishing attention is always divided. We caught nothing. I spoke with another (serious) bass fisherman who was pulling his boat out because he got nothing. I saw nothing being. It was a good day to get extra sleep, though.
I threw frogs in the salad, senkos, spinnerbait, a pop-r, and even a shallow running crankbait out of desperation.
Hope that helps. |

Tough day. Next time it'll be better! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

I had some luck that day flipping the pads. Caught one on a frog as well. My wife got 3 with a Senko fishing the outer edge of the pads (yes, she out fished me that day - but I spent most of the day trying to work on my frog presentation. The way the weather's been with all the sun and clear water, those fish are stingy and haning in the thick stuff. Went again a few days later with a guy I work with and caught two more flipping. He got a really nice 3.5 pounder at about 7:30PM on a white spinnerbait on the edges of the pad line. |
